Mechanical Engineer - Wind Power Systems
About Eonnora Research and Development
Eonnora Research and Development is the clean energy research and development arm of the Singapore-based Eonnora Group. A joint R&D program has been established together with Windside - a pioneer in vertical-axis wind power technology - focused on micro and nano grid solutions — standalone and grid-connected — built around Windside’s wind power systems, battery storage, and integrated power electronics. As a part of this team, you will take products from concept through design, prototyping, testing, and preparation for manufacturing, supporting deployments in Singapore and international markets.
About the Role
You will lead the mechanical design of Windside Linear Power systems and their supporting structures — from turbine assemblies and mounting masts to enclosures and site structures. This is a hands-on design-for-manufacture role covering concept design, detailed CAD, structural analysis, prototyping, and support for production.
- Design mechanical assemblies for wind power systems: rotors, shafts, bearings, couplings, generator/motor housings, and drivetrain components
- Design steel masts, mounting frames, foundations interfaces, and other structural elements, including load and fatigue calculations for wind, marine, and rooftop environments
- Produce complete manufacturing CAD drawing packages (part drawings, assemblies, BOMs, tolerances, weld and fabrication specifications)
- Select materials and finishes for corrosion resistance and long service life in tropical and coastal conditions
- Support prototyping, testing, and root-cause analysis; iterate designs based on test and field data
- Work with the supply chain team and fabricators in Singapore, India, and China to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective
- Coordinate mechanical interfaces with the power, electrical, and CAD/site-layout team members
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 4 - 8 years experience designing and delivering physical products such as motors/generators, pressure vessels, automotive components, steel masts/structures, or building-related steelwork
- Strong proficiency in mechanical CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent) and production of manufacturing drawings to recognised drafting standards
- Working knowledge of structural analysis; ability to perform or interpret FEA and hand calculations
- Familiarity with fabrication processes: machining, welding, sheet metal, casting, and surface treatment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with rotating machinery, wind turbines, or marine/offshore structures
- Familiarity with Eurocode/BS or equivalent structural design codes and BCA submission processes in Singapore
- Experience working with contract manufacturers in Asia
